Gulikit Left joy con drifts at start

Hey, all! I recently got the Guilikit TMR Joy Cons to replace my old ones. I followed the video, did both left and right, then did the calibration. They both work great, except, sometimes when launching a game, the left one will have a very slight drift to the left. If I leave it alone for about 30 seconds, it stops. If I open the calibrating menu, it shows no movement. Also, it doesn't do it every time. The stick works great, otherwise, even on the times that it does drift.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I have a similar issue, but when launching the Switch (startup from sleep or startup from off). I need to move the joystick almost in all direction one time for it to stop drifting. After that, everything else is good even in the calibration... That's really weird.

But it doesn't does it on all the Gulikit TMR I installed, it does it mostly on the ones that doesn't have a fix position before calibrating.

Hey!

Does it happen with all the games? It's weird, as it does need to show some drift in the calibration menu.

I would replace the stick if it's keep doing that and see if that fixes it. Return the old one for a refund if it is solved by a new one.

It does happen with other games, too. We initially noticed it with BOTW, then tried TOTK, and finally Mario Odyssey. It did with all three games, but like I said in my post, it doesn't always do it, and it goes away after about 30 seconds. Since it goes away on its own, and the controller works fine afterwards, it may be something we don't have to worry about, but I do worry that it may be a problem in the future.

Regardless, you think I should try to exchange it?

If it's working atm fine, I would leave it. If it's getting worse (like 60 seconds instead 30 seconds) I would replace it. For now just leave it and see how it goes.

I have a similar issue. It happens when my joycon powers on for the first time, I get intermittent stick inputs to the left. It goes away after I manually tilt the stick to the left. Minor annoyance but other than that, it works great.

Yeah, it must be related to the Joy-Con sticks, I guess.

Thanks, brother. This is what we've been doing. No additional issues so far, so I hope it stays that way. Cheers!

Same thing happening to me. Sounds like a recent, bad batch but not the worst problem to have considering mine only occurs after exiting sleep mode and I don’t use sleep mode very often. Tried rehousing it, cleaning it, still has slight drift/stutters to the upper left but after any input at all via the left joystick, it is perfectly fine again.

I've bought two sets of Guli sticks, and both have had drifting issues from the start, and have only gotten worse, a lot faster and a lot worse than the factory sticks. Really annoying considering how often people have praised them.
